Vanessa Hudgens :: Red Carpet

Vanessa Hudgens has revealed her red carpet dressing don'ts - such as avoiding doing a "cartwheel" in a gown. The actress is no stranger to appearing at glitzy Hollywood events. In the midst of awards season, the star has given her advice for what to avoid doing on the red carpet. "A cartwheel . . . in a dress," she told MTV News. The Descendants actress Shailene Woodley said the secret to impressing on the red carpet was to choose practicality over style. She said confidence was more likely to shine through if stars were at ease in their outfits. "Don't wear something that's uncomfortable. Wear something that's super comfortable," Woodley said. Tree of Life star Jessica Chastain agreed with the sentiment. "You should never wear something that makes you uncomfortable because then you look uncomfortable," she said. "We've all done that, right? We've all been talked into something we didn't love, by our grandmothers, our aunts, my great aunt."
 Viola Davis knows what poses to strike when she's standing in front of photographers. The Help star thinks being true to yourself is the best way to be. "My big thing, I never do over-the-shoulder shots. I just don't. I think they're cheesy. I think absolutely you should be who you are, it has a huge calming effect as opposed to adding anxiety to yourself and trying to channel another persona; it really doesn't work," Davis said. "Can you imagine the over-the-shoulder, hair-flip kinda pose for myself?" Dame Helen Mirren said a star should always be on their best behaviour when walking down a red carpet. The veteran actress said people should embrace the attention, even if it did feel surreal. "Don't be drunk, absolutely do not be drunk or high on anything," she said. "Don't be nervous and do enjoy it. Think [to yourself], 'This is crazy, this is ridiculous, it's absurd, it has absolutely no place in the modern world. I'm just gonna love it'."

Vanessa Hudgens :: Second campaign for "candie"

Vanessa Hudgens is working her flirty side in her second campaign for Candie’s! The starlet — first announced as the new face of the line in January — is part of the brand’s fall campaign for Kohl’s, showcasing a series of rules known as ‘Candie’s-ism’s,’ like ‘Candie’s girls believe you can do anything in heels.’
So does Hudgens subscribe to any fashion rules? “The more I grow up, the more I’ve been comfortable with my style, therefore allowing me to really experiment with all different looks,” she told PEOPLE during the shoot, which took place in California in April. “I’m extremely inspired by the ’60s and ’70s. I adore Bianca Jagger and Cher.” But her fashion role models don’t always influence her daytime and evening looks. When asked if she prefers edgy or conservative fashions, she says it “depends on the occasion. That’s why I love Candie’s.

You can rock it out or be a pink princess.” Considered a burgeoning style icon herself, she admires her contemporaries, as well. “I think Miley [Cyrus] has amazing style. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Ashley Tisdale of course … Blake Lively,” she says. “They all play with fashion and have fun with it!” (As do former Candie’s girls Britney Spears and Fergie).
 Hudgens’s national campaign debuts in magazines this fall, and merchandise will be available exclusively at Kohl’s and kohls.com in the months ahead. And to be a part of the campaign, Candie’s is giving fans the opportunity to choose its next TV commercial.]
