 Actress Anne Hathaway thinks everything in 'The Dark Knight Rises' has 'a purpose'. The 'One Day' actress who portrays Selina Kyle, Catwoman, in the upcoming third and final movie in the Batman franchise,explained nothing in director Christopher Nolan's concept of Gotham City was put in place just for 'fantasy's sake'. She said: 'I love the costume because everything has a purpose, nothing is in place for fantasy's sake, and that's the case with everything in Christopher Nolan's Gotham City.'


The 27-year-old star also admitted after being cast in the role, she researched the history of the legendary character by reading the traditional comics in which Catwoman first appeared.Anne Hathaway added in an interview with the Los Angeles Times: 'I really got into the comics after I was cast and I like that when she made her first appearance she meets Bruce Wayne and says 'Let go of me or I'll claw your eyes out,' and he says, 'Careful, claws in or papa spank.' 'So I'm glad we've come a long way since then.'

Anne Hathaway :: Yorkshire accent

Actress Anne Hathaway was wracked with nerves before shooting started on her new romantic movie One Day, because she had to perfect a northern English accent.

The Devil Wears Prada star fell in love with the role of Yorkshire-born Emma in the film, which is an adaptation of David Nicholls' 2009 novel.

Hathaway convinced director Lone Scherfig she was perfect for the part - but the American actress admits she initially doubted her ability to tackle the regional dialect.

She tells Britain's Marie Claire magazine, "I've never been so nervous about playing anyone as I was to play Emma.

"There were many reasons to say no to this part. One, because I didn't think I could pull it off. Two, I was very nervous about the Yorkshire accent."

Anne Hathaway : hates being type cast

"Love and Other Drugs" actress Anne Hathaway hates being type cast by her movie roles.
She is still working to over come her break out role in "The Princess Diaries".

Anne Hathaway said::
“The question that I dreaded answering in interviews was ‘Did you always dream of being a princess?’ I felt like saying ‘No, I dreamed of being an actress! That was a role I played!”

“It was frustrating because, like constantly being asked about the nudity in Love and Other Drugs, it kept the conversation at the surface. It was like talking to my grandparents — you know, ‘I’m really not as young as you think but I’m going to be polite’.”

Anne Hathaway :: New Cat Woman

Anne Hathaway, an Oscar nominee for 2008's "Rachel Getting Married," will co-host the Academy Awards with James Franco on February 27.

Glee actress has clawed her way into the latest Batman movie, nabbing the role of Selina Kyle and her alter ego, Catwoman.

Warner Bros. announced the casting Wednesday for Christopher Nolan's latest film in the superhero saga, "The Dark Knight Rises." Anne will appear opposite Christian Bale, who's returning as Bruce Wayne and Batman.
The studio also announced that Tom Hardy, whom Nolan directed in last year's "Inception," will play one of Batman's enemies, Bane. "The Dark Knight Rises" is slated for release on July 20, 2012.

Anne Hathaway : New role in "Glee"

Anne Hathaway has been hired to be a guest star on the music-themed comedy series "Glee," the TV show's executive producer said.


Brad Falchuck told UsMagazine.com Hathaway will play the lesbian aunt of the show's gay character, Kurt.

"It was her idea, and (with) someone like her, it's sort of hard to say no!" Falchuck said. "We don't generally get excited about guest stars just for the sake of guest stars, but when you have someone like Gwyneth (Paltrow) or Anne Hathaway, where you can say, 'They are amazing' ... they are big gifts to you."

Paltrow appeared on "Glee" earlier this season and sang several songs.

Chris Colfer, who plays Kurt, said he can't wait to work with Hathaway, star of "The Princess Diaries," "The Devil Wears Prada," "Becoming Jane" and "Love & Other Drugs."

"Anne Hathaway lesbian that sentence is awesome!" he said UsMagazine.com. "I am very much looking forward to that."

"Glee" Series won the Golden Globe for Best Comedy Series and Colfer for Best Supporting Actor in a TV series, miniseries or TV movie Sunday night.

The star Anne Hathaway  will see a number of items - including a gold Rolex watch valued at $25,000, a silver Rolex worth $5,000, a five-strand pearl necklace and silver and diamond earrings- that she was given by ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri and were later seized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as part of their investigation against him.

Anne - who turned over around 12 items in April 2008 after the businessman was arrested on fraud charges-was offered the chance to bid exclusively on the necklaces, rings and other items, but declined, reports the New York Post newspaper.The auction date has not yet been set.

Anne Hathaway,27, has previously spoken of her shock after Raffaello,who she dated for four years ,was taken into custody on charges of federal wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering.

Anne - who is now dating Adam Shulman - said: "As soon as I found out about the arrest, I had to get on a plane to Mexico to do a promotional tour for 'Get Smart'. And then I spent a week in shock at a friend's house.

"It's a situation where the rug was pulled out from under me all of a sudden. But just as suddenly, my friends threw another rug back under me. One said, 'Go stay at my house.'

"And Steve Carell, my 'Get Smart' co-star, stepped up for me during an interview when someone asked a question about it. He said, 'At some point you're going to have to talk about this time in your life. You don't have to do it this week. I'll take care of anything that comes your way.' "

In October 2008, the Italian businessman was jailed for four-and-a-half years after pleading guilty to all charges.

Anne Hathaway : Talks about "Glee"

"GLEE" Actress Anne Hathaway is no rookie to the "Saturday Night Live" stage. Saturday will be the second time the actress visits Studio 8H. Also on board will be music act Florence and the Machine.

"I feel like I'm having the best week of my life again," Hathaway told former "Saturday Night Live" cast member Jimmy Fallon on his "Late Night" show. "It's everything you have ever dreamed of."

The actress also revealed to Fallon that she's a big time Gleek and has even fantasized a role for herself on the show.

"In my head I've cast myself in 'Glee' and I know what song I'd sing," Hathaway told Fallon. "I would want to play Kurt's long lost aunt, his mother's sister, who is also gay and who comes back to help him deal with his sexuality. I would sing 'You Are Not Alone' from Stephen Sondheim's epic show, 'Into The Woods.'"
