Kelly Clarkson :: Super Bowl Singing

Betting on the Super Bowl is almost as popular as the game itself. Most folks are content to pick a winner and cross their fingers, but others like their bets to be a little more, well, obscure. These wagers, known as prop bets, can cover everything from how long a singer will take to finish the national anthem to who will score the game's first points. Jeff DeLuca of the Yahoo! Contributor Network listed some of the strangest prop bets before the game kicked off. Here are some of the results: Did Kelly Clarkson take too long to sing the national anthem? According to Bovada sportsbook, Clarkson went over 1 minute, 34 seconds, which was the betting line cutoff. However, another source (unofficially) timed Clarkson at 1:33.81. One could also bet on whether or not Clarkson would forget a word (she did not) and whether she would show her belly while singing (she did not).

Kelly Clarkson :: New Album Super hit

American Idol Kelly Clarkson's endorsement of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul on Dec. 28 may have helped draw attention to the original "American Idol" champion, but despite multiple reports from other news sites, it did little to help the sales of her "Stronger" album. According to both Nielsen SoundScan data and sources in the know at Clarkson's label, RCA, little evidence exists to support the theory that Clarkson's praise for Paul helped her sales. In fact, her album sales actually dropped when compared with the previous week.

In the week that ended on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, "Stronger" sold 40% fewer copies than it did the previous week (25,000, as opposed to 41,000 in the week before Christmas). And while it moved from No. 39 to No. 17 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, its upward momentum this week was caused by it having a less-steep decline in sales as compared to the rest of the titles on the chart (the overall album market was down 49% in the week after Christmas). Its total sales stand at 451,000 after 10 weeks.

Its smaller drop, as compared to the rest of the market, is owed to its gain in download sales - it saw a 232% increase in the digital space (selling 14,000 downloads for the week). But Ron Paul probably didn't have much to do with that rally, either. The bulk of digital album sales -- for Clarkson or any other artist -- come from the Apple iTunes Store.

And last week, coincidentally enough, iTunes heavily promoted both her sale-priced "Stronger" album and her new exclusive "iTunes Session" EP (released Dec. 27) on the front page of the store. Many of the stories generated regarding "Stronger's" sales jump were focused on its physical CD sales via Amazon.com and how it zipped up the Internet retailer's "movers and shakers" ranking after her Paul comments. Some journalists may have thought this meant the album was flying off Amazon.com's shelves. In actuality, "Stronger" sold 600 copies last week via Internet retailers (including Amazon.com) -- down 72% compared to the previous week, when it moved 2,000 copies.

Kelly Clarkson :: Boyfriends are "scared as hell"

The Beautiful Disaster hitmaker believes her potential boyfriends are "scared as hell" that she'll write a track about them, but insists her music tends to be more about her working environment rather than who she is dating.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "If you've got any record of mine then I think they're a little scary for men. Sometimes they're about relationships with guys, but it's more about my work environment. I just write metaphorically speaking as if I'm in a relationship with a guy. I'd be scared as hell to date me.

I'd be like, 'I don't want a song written about me'." The 29-year-old beauty would like to find a man who is confident around her when she eventually settles down because she thinks guys find her "really intimidating". The Mr Know It All singer added: "I never know when people like me, I always find out way later. I think people are really intimidated by me, which I find really weird because I feel like I'm pretty down to earth and inviting. But apparently that's not the case.

 "My brother says I'm really intimidating to guys, but I don't mean to be. So I need a guy who can handle that. I'm like so chilled. It's funny because all the guys that are super confident with me are like giant tools. And all the guys that you want to be confident are insecure around me and they're the ones you want to ask out.

 "I'm not looking for a guy at the moment because I'm in a different country every day. There's no pressure to find anybody."

Kelly Clarkson :: Humiliating Kanye

Tons of celebrities have taken to their blogs and twitter pages to express how disappointed they are in Kanye's behavior at the MTV VMA awards, but Kelly took it one step further. She's written an open letter to Kanye---and it's deliciously nasty. Here's what she had to say: “Dear Kanye,” she wrote, “what happened to you as a child?? Did you not get hugged enough?? Something must have happened to make you this way and I think we’re all just curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like shit.
 “I mean, I’ve seen you do some pretty shitty things, but you just keep amazing me with your tactless, asshole ways. It’s absolutely fascinating how much I don’t like you. I like everyone. I even like my asshole ex that cheated on me over you…which is pretty odd since I don’t even personally know you. “The best part of this evening is that you weren’t even up for THIS award and yet you still have a problem with the outcome. Is winning a moon man that much of a life goal?? You can have mine if it will shut you up. Is it that important, really?? “I was actually nominated in the same category that Taylor Swift won and I was excited for her…so why can’t you be?? I’m not even mad at you for being an asshole…I just pity you because you’re a sad human being. “On a side note, Beyonce has always been a class act and proved again tonight that she still is. Go TEXAS!! “Taylor Swift, you outsell him ….that’s why he’s bitter. You know I love your work! Keep it up girl!”

Kelly Clarkson :: Tears through a medley of hits on 'Ellen'

"American Idol" Singer  Kelly Clarkson beat out Justin Guarini to become the first American Idol? And can you believe there was a time when “Kelly or Justin?” was actually a valid question?
Still the all-time reigning Idol in terms of worldwide sales and vocal prowess,She performed a knockout medley of her hits yesterday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

 Although her upcoming fifth album has been held back until September, the Texas powerhouse wasn’t holding herself back when she ran through “Miss Independent,” “Walk Away,” and “Since U Been Gone” for a lucky Florida crowd.
Her voice is strong as ever, her attitude still grabs us by the collar, and her hits still sound as relevant. And she looks awesome in those sunglasses, even though they’re usually reserved for irritating sorority girls.
