Lively with her finger firmly on the pulse of a nation grappling with poverty and mass unemployment, Blake Lively has described the size of her Louboutin shoes collection as “embarrassing.”
The star of Gossip Girl discussed her addiction at a 20th anniversary celebration of Louboutin’s work in New York.
Previously, the actress has purchased forty pairs of Louboutins at a time, and is a personal friend of the footwear designer. She gushed to People magazine:
“They are the most beautiful shoes out there. And incredibly innovative. It’s embarrassing how many pairs I have.”
Lively was joined during the evening by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Calvin Klein and Tyrese, with Blake sporting a pair of splatter-paint snakeskin stilettos.
The designer himself kept up with the spirit of mutual sucking up/back-slapping, declaring:
“Not only is [Blake] beautiful, she is very talented and she’s very smart. One of the things that is most important for women and men, at least for me, is intelligence.
Through a lot of things, she has proved that she is really intelligent and she also has this natural beauty and this natural way of moving which makes her absolutely a great image.”
Yeah, yeah. Anyway, Louboutin also gazed into his crystal ball and offered his insight for shoes to come:
“A beautiful low-cut pump. Low-cut in the front and almost the colour of your skin so it can completely disappear or in black so you can wear it with different colours.”
Blake Lively adores living in New York and claims she is as smitten with the US city than she could ever be with a boyfriend.

Blake said: "New York is so romantic. Rather than planning a night I just get lost in the city. The city romances me, just as much as any man could!" 'Gossip Girl' actress - who is dating her co-star Penn Badgley - loves spending time in the American city, and admits her feelings for the area rival her relationships with boyfriends.
Blake and Penn have been dating since late 2007, but she hates discussing her private life and tries hard to keep their relationship as secret as possible.
She explained: "If I were doing another job - like if I were CEO at a big company - I wouldn't bring my personal life to the table, right? You separate the two. You have got to treat this like any other job. If you are on the red carpet and talk about your life, you are inviting people in."
She understands that interest into her life helps keep the US teen drama series popular with fans, even though she dislikes being the centre of attention.
She explained: "Our show feeds off buzz and gossip. I find photo shoots quite hard because it's just you being you. That's always really hard for me because by nature I'm very shy."
